چکیده

In this paper, Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of Feedback-type Adaptive Array Antenna (AAA) in Frequency Division Duplex/Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access system (FDD/DS-CDMA) with Mobile Station (MS) reception diversity will be investigated. The results include the effects of maximum Doppler frequencies (fd) and antenna element spacing at Base Station (BS) under flat fading and frequency selective fading. These effects are not clarified until now on this system. Moreover, the effect of rake receiver will be studied on this system. Computer simulation results show that the reception diversity shows better BER performance than single antenna reception at MS due to diversity effect.

Performance Evaluation of MIMO Base Station Antenna Designs

Cellular standards like the third generation partnership program (3GPP) long term evolution (LTE), ultra-mobile broadband (UMB), high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) and IEEE 802.16e (WiMAX) support multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication technology. MIMO uses multiple antennas at the transmitter and receiver along with advanced digital signal processing to improve lin...

On correlations between dual-polarized base station antennas

Several diversity techniques employing multiple antennas in the base station have been developed for mobile communication systems. However, the performance of diversity methods strongly depends on the correlation between antenna elements. When multiple co-polarized antennas are used in base station, the practical factor limiting the number of diversity branches is the required antenna separatio...

Phase Diversity Arrays for Mobile Communication Networks

Diversity reception is a widely used technique in radio communications to reduce signal fading due to complex propagation environments. Fading is caused by multipath propagation of the radio signal in complex environments, which in practice are either downtown areas in large cities or indoor environments. This presentation is focused on the design problem of an antenna array, which could be use...

Adaptive interference suppression in multiuser wireless OFDM systems using antenna arrays

This paper considers the problem of mitigating fading and interference in wireless orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) multiple access communication systems. Applications include cellular mobile radio, wireless local loop, and wireless local area networks. The effect of interchannel interference (ICI) arising from time-selective fading and frequency offsets and co-channel interfer...

The performance enhancement of multibeam adaptive base-station antennas for cellular land mobile rad - Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on

The problem of meeting the proliferating demands for mobile telephony within the confinements of the limited radio spectrum allocated to these services is addressed. A multiple beam adaptive basestation antenna is proposed as a major system component in an attempt to solve this problem. This novel approach is demonstrated here by employing an antenna array capable of resolving the angular distr...
